After a long 12 hour flight from Auckland International Airport to LAX, a group of 31 exchange students and two chaperones finally made it into Los Angeles where we would be starting the journey abroad. Shortly after landing, Warren from Westchester Rotary kindly picked us up and took us to our accommodation called the Holiday Inn Express.
We then met up with a team of 5 Rotarians from Westchester Rotary who took us to Santa Monica pier or the Promenade in little groups encouraging us to sight see, shop and take in the stunning views.
One thing we noticed about America, was the pedestrian crossings did not really make noise rather, they repeatedly told us to wait and when it was safe to cross, no noise was emitted.
We eventually rounded up the day with a pizza, hash brown and fried chicken dinner.
